Tebuireng.online- The Ta’lif wan Nasyr Nahdlatul Ulama Institute (LTN NU) Jombang Nahdlatul Ulama Branch Management (PCNU) held a Writing Workshop at Ma’had Aly Hasyim Asy’ari Tebuireng on Saturday, October 25 2025. This activity was attended by 30 of the best participants from the Jombang NU Masyaikh Writing Competition, consisting of santri, students, lecturers and young NU cadres. This event aims to develop writing skills as a means of da’wah bil qalam (preaching through writing) and a medium for tafaqquh fi al-din (deepening of religious knowledge).

Mudir Ma’had Aly Hasyim Asy’ari Tebuireng, Dr. KH. Ahmad Roziqi, Lc., MHI, in his speech emphasized the urgency of writing for NU cadres. He said that there were many preachers who preached verbally, but there were still few who wanted to write.

“In fact, writing is a da’wah that is timeless. It is able to live across generations, becoming a charity that continues to flow,” said Dr. KH. Ahmad Roziqi.

He emphasized that the tradition of writing is part of the intellectual struggle of Islamic boarding schools. NU cadres are not just good at speaking, but must be able to express religious ideas and understanding in written form. “Writing is part of tafaqquh fi al-din, because by writing we not only understand, but also teach and spread knowledge,” he said.

Dr. KH. Ahmad Roziqi also motivated participants to maintain continuity in writing. “Don’t wait to be great to write, because writing is what will make us great,” he said. He invited participants to start by writing small things such as experiences and reflections.

In the training session, participants received material regarding basic writing techniques, developing ideas, and strategies for publishing works in digital and print media. The enthusiasm of the participants was seen from their enthusiasm for asking questions and discussing, indicating a growing interest in pursuing the world of writing. Some participants even said that activities like this were very relevant for building the character of literate students who were broad-minded but still rooted in Aswaja values.

This activity strengthens collaboration between LTN NU PCNU Jombang and Ma’had Aly Tebuireng in the field of literacy. It is hoped that this workshop will produce a generation of young NU writers who are capable of arguing, have good morals, and are dedicated to preaching through the pen.
